A Little Bit About Me.
My Story (So Far).
I was born in Rio de Janeiro and am a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu 2nd degree Black-Belt under master Roberto “Gordo” Correa. I have been training in BJJ for almost 30 years, and teaching for at least 15 years.
I started training BJJ in 1993 at the age of 20 years old with masters Ralph Gracie and Roberto “Gordo” Correa, but also trained at Gracie Barra headquarters in Barra da Tijuca under master Carlos Gracie Jr from 1995 to 2000. I became a BJJ Rio de Janeiro Champion in 1996 and a Brazilian Champion in 1997.
In 2004, I came to London and trained at Roger Gracie Academy until 2010, before returning to Brazil. During this Period in London, I was an assistant instructor with Jiu-Jitsu master Patrick Roberts at the JKO gym in Bethnal Green where I gained some new teaching skills.
In 2013, I was officially given my Black-Belt by my master Roberto “Gordo” Correa, and in 2015, and then returned to London to start a BJJ project in the United Kingdom. I taught at LDG Mixed Martial Arts Club in London from 2015 to 2017, and gained more teaching experience. I have been training BJJ at Grand Union Academy in London since 2018 under master Cesar Lima, who is also a Black-Belt under Roger Gracie.
Today, I am developing my own classes and giving private lessons.
